Hey this is Austin as of right now. Marisa will add her part later. Anyways, my idea for the rocket would be to have a rounded top at the top of the bottle, almost like a bullet. It also needs to be hollow because I wanted to add a parachute that will extract from the top once landing. I also wanted this to have wings. But to a certain angle, that's because, when the rocket goes up, it goes up in a spiral motion. These will work as a type of propeller and a stabilizer for the rocket to shoot straight up and not have to worry about any trees. I will go into more detail about the rocket as we progress. But this is just general knowledge for the design.
Similarly I, Marisa, wanted to add fins. Among the sites I've skimmed, I have gleaned that they enable the rocket to shoot straight up instead of leaning a certain way. The designs I've seen seem to have the same general designs including nose cones, fins, and parachutes. It's actually quite boring. I wonder if there's are a lot of different designs we can use or if the selection really is that limited. Because of limited ideas, I guess what really matters is the material and the composition. I wonder if cardboard is too flimsy for the fins?
Good post. I like the questions that you have and maybe your readers can help to answer some of those questions. I also like that you tagged (labeled) your blogpost as well.
ReplyDeleteI also wondered what your blogpost had to do with the redondos box.
You both donʻt have to post on the same day, you can take turns. Either way it is up to you. Other groups have chosen to prepare their blogposts on googledocs and then to post them up as a collaborative piece.
